We are pleased to announce a dedicated half-day Workshop entitled, “Design Of RC Elements For Structural Fire Safety,” which will take place during the course of the 5th International Conference on Civil, Structural and Transportation Engineering (ICCSTE’20). The workshop will be instructed by Prof. Maged A. Youssef and Dr. Salah El-Fitiany from the University of Western Ontario, Canada.

Workshop registration is not included in the registration fee of the conference. Please register for the conference and workshop separately if interested in attending both events. 

Fire is one of the common events that occur during the lifetime of Reinforced Concrete (RC) structures. This workshop focuses on providing attendees with the knowledge needed to assess the axial, flexural, and shear capacities of RC elements exposed to fire. Practical design examples will be presented and discussed. Tools that simplify the calculations will be provided to attendees. This workshop is part of a training series on structural fire engineering by Prof. Youssef and Dr. El-Fitiany.

Certificates for PDHs (Professional Development Hours) showing the Continuing Education Units (CEUs) will be awarded upon completion of the workshop. The workshop will be 3.5 hours, which is equivalent to 0.35 CEUs.
