"Big data" and related analysis through AI/Machine Learning are changing how projects of all kinds are driven forward. The impact capital/financial inclusion/economic policy sectors have made inroads using these techniques, including loan underwriting, constituent/customer acquisition and macro-economic forecasting, however the full potential of big data-driven initiatives remains largely untapped. At this panel, learn:
-
how big data differs from traditional data analysis;
-
how machine learning approaches provide promising techniques to extract insights – but needs to be used with care;
-
the successes and challenges of applying big data to understanding financial, economic and social activity;
-
how best to acquire big data (from public and private sources) and develop the talent to make use of it.
Hosted by the Impact Capital Forum, a NY non-profit that has been presenting informational discussions about finance and social impact, since 2003.
